Another tragedy from Shakespeare is coming to Shanghai this week. Revolving from the newly-married Muslim general Othello, the play is about jealousy, betrayal, love and revenge. Brought to you by the English Touring Theatre, the show is one of a kind.

July 20: Premier League Asia Trophy 2019

Great news for English Premier League fans in China, as Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United and West Ham United will contest the 2019 Premier League Asia Trophy in Nanjing and Shanghai. The third place playoff and final will take place at Hongkou Football Stadium on Saturday, July 20 at 6pm and 8.30pm respectively. Don't miss this event if you are a hardcore football fan.

Jul 20: ‘Game of Thrones’ Concert

The most anticipated show of 2019 may have concluded. Well, here is your opportunity to relive the thrilling plot and action of Game of Thrones. Held in the Shanghai Centre Theatre, the 90-minute-long concert will bring you back to Westeros. In addition, the show will feature original soundtracks from classic blockbusters as well, including Harry Potter and Avengers.

Jul 21: Roses in the Salad

The award-winning visual masterpiece Roses in the Salad is headed to Shanghai's 1862 Theatre on July 21. Based on the book by Bruno Munari, the humorous and thoroughly entertaining performance looks to inspire kids and parents to work together in the kitchen and learn all about garden grown veggies. Your little ones are sure to be enraptured by the show's amazing audio-visual techniques and energetic cast. The production is in Italian but features Chinese subtitles so it's easy for kids to follow along.

Sep 9-15: World Snooker Shanghai Masters 2019

The greatest snooker players from around the world are back in town as world number one Ronnie ‘The Rocket’ O’Sullivan bids to lift the Shanghai Masters trophy for the third year running. After becoming the richest invitation event in snooker history last year, expect arguably the most competitive field to date as the world’s top 16, plus eight players from China, fight it out for the prestigious trophy and for a share of the jaw-dropping RMB6 million plus prize fund. Running from September 9 to September 15, the Regal International East Asia Hotel will play host to one of the biggest events on the snooker calendar, with Chinese superstar Ding Junhui looking to win the competition for the third time in seven years.
