Pizza Express: A Family Favorite

The restaurant may have a new name, but it’s still the same great taste. Shanghai’s well-loved Pizza Marzano restaurant is now known as Pizza Express like its counterpart in the UK. The name change still brings with it an abundance of tasty dishes that even the fussiest of children will love.

Their seasonal menu, with this season’s spring dishes focusing on seafood, makes it impossible for this restaurant to become redundant.

Despite the regularly changing menu, their more than 30 traditional Italian (and Chinese) pizza and pasta favorites prove to be reliable options at reasonable prices. Accommodating Shanghai’s palate is an exclusive Peking duck pizza topped with chili, spring onions and, of course, hoison sauce.

For those looking for a healthier option, look no further than the superfood salad, which is packed with low-calorie-high-nutrient foods such as avocado, pumpkin, beetroot, green beans, baby spinach and pine nuts drizzled with balsamic syrup.

This modern restaurant is perfectly complemented with novelties such as pizza making classes for kids and ‘pizza jams’ (RMB198/person) for adults complete with pizza throwing, giving patrons the full dining experience.

There are many locations around town, the most recent opening in Novel Place, Xujiahui. The chain plans to open five more restaurants in the city this year – so it will be hard to miss this family favorite.
