SHARK

The place to see and be seen

Shark has achieved mean girl-like status in Coco Park: some Shenzheners love it, some hate it, but all know it. With few fine dining options available in the immediate area, Shark quickly became the place to see and be seen shortly after opening earlier this year – with some customers even proposing there.

However, this wine and oyster bar with its international team of cooks, servers and hostess is happy to make any occasion special, proposal or not, should patrons contact them beforehand and request help planning. Also, it’s not only a wine and oyster bar as their daily lunch buffet (RMB68) features a wide assortment of cold cuts, cheeses, soups and desserts, making it a solid contender for an economical yet swanky ‘date lunch.’
For those wanting to go big though, make a dinner reservation for Saturday or Sunday night and sit at one of the tables on the spacious outdoor wooden deck. Each gleams with soft candle light and a single rose in a glass bottle, completing the romantic vibe. Order the La Lune n°2 oysters (RMB288/six pieces), the Hokkaido scallop carpaccacio (RMB158) and the Australian Angus prime rib (RMB880) for a filling meal and pair it with one of Shark’s many fine wines, like the Bisol, Belstar Prosecco (RMB55/glass).
