Many running groups in Shanghai gather to “Run For The Oceans”

On June 6, 2021, coincided with the World Environment Day(June 5), JOYRUN joined hands with ADIDAS to gather several Shanghai running groups and nearly a thousand runners on the weekend in Nanhui Dongtan, Dianshan Lake, Century Park, the Bund and other places conduct 3-5 kilometers of plogging to contribute to the environmental protection vision of ending plastic waste. As a continuation of the theme activity “Run For The Oceans ". Since 2017, this event encourages more runners to contribute their own strength-clean the environment and give everyone a more free space for exercise.

This offline activity of “Run For The Oceans " adopted the sport choice that had been popular among runners in recent years-Plogging, which combines the form of plocka up and jogga, and appealed to everyone to pay attention to environmental protection. Everyone could experience the extraordinary fun and challenge of running with action. In addition to the activities at the Shanghai station, Beijing, Chengdu, and Xiamen also started running together to clean the mountains, clean the water, and clean the city, guarding the blue sky with bit by bit actions.

Apart from friends and colleagues, there were also many family teams among the participating runners. Young runners ‘parents took their children to the battle together. They all said that activities such as “Run For The Oceans “were very important to raise the awareness of environmental protection of the next generation. One of the father runners said with emotion: "As a native of Shanghai, I have watched the changes in the environment of Suzhou River over the years. It has nurtured us from generation to generation. Today I brought my son to participate in this event. I hope it can allow him to learn to care for the environment and the mountains and rivers of his hometown from a young age. I believe that as long as everyone can start from himself, our Shanghai will be more beautiful and more attractive!"

In addition to four cities offline Plogging, ADIDAS also joined JOYRUN APP and JOYRUN to launch an online “Run For The Oceans “campaign from May 21st to June 8th. Each step of the participant will be counted as the accumulated mileage. For every 1 kilometer run, ADIDAS will work with JOYRUN, the pioneer environmental protection brand BOTTLOOP, AR Running Team and major environmental protection forces to clean up plastic waste weighing 10 plastic bottles, it is planned to clean up 10,000 kg of plastic waste.
