Fashion and Art Meet Female Empowerment at China’s Hottest Fashion Event of the Year!
Spring and summer 2022 collections are here!
On Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 5.30pm, independent women’s designer brand TU will hit Shanghai’s Taipinghu park at Xintiandi. TU will stage a runway show with the latest range of spring and summer clothes, demonstrating the strength of up-and-coming Chinese fashion designers.
Inspired by abstract art, TU’s show could be called an ‘art and fashion crossover.’
The tailor-made and lifelong repair service means the customer is at the center of TU’s philosophy. The brand injects into Shanghai Fashion Week 2021 some much-needed alternative fashion for empowered and independently-minded women.
The show marks a major milestone for TU. Since the founding of the brand in 2015, this is their first time to stage a runway show at Shanghai Fashion Week, China’s most iconic fashion event of the year.
Over 600 guests will attend, including buyers and industry elites, as well as media representatives and KOLs. The uniquely empowering designs will be modelled by 30 renowned international models.
And, to make the show extra special, TU has invited a number of celebrity guests. This includes the most popular stand-up comedians, Si Wen, He Guang Zhi, Xiao Bei, Meng Chuan and Norah.
What makes TU designs so unique?
Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer of abstract art, forms the inspiration for TU designs.
Pieces follow a design concept of ‘point and line to plane.’ As the name of the concept suggests, each design features rigid points and lines which separate distinct planes of colors, much like Kandinsky’s artwork.
In the words of Stefanice Li , TU’s founder and chief designer, “Art can be a powerful force in fashion design.”
