What happens when art meets with the thrill of high speeds? Yesterday (Tue 28 Dec), we partnered with luxury automaker Lincoln to find out. Fifty artists, influencers and Lincoln car owners were invited to our inaugural Time Out Shanghai Art X experience – an afternoon and evening inspired by the new Lincoln Nautilus and its fearless sense of adventure.

Over the years, Lincoln has created a car fit for every era, each time innovating its design and luxury touches. During Art X, the newest model of Lincoln Nautilus chaffeured guests from one destination to the next in elegance and comfort.

The 50 guests at Art X included designers, artists, fashion photographers, bloggers, media, and influencers – and though their fields and expertise were wide-ranging and varied, each found that the Lincoln Nautilus offered a true experience of luxury.

The first stop of the journey was the Shanghai Center of Photography (SCôP) for its current exhibition Good VibrationsThis seminal show features a behind-the-scenes look at some of China's biggest celebrities in their day-to-day life, letting a different, more intimate side of the stars shine through. Art X guests began the afternoon taking in these poignant works.

From here, the journey continued with a trip in a fleet of Lincoln Nautilus to the Shanghai Himalayas Museum. With Eagle Ottawa leather seats and a high-end Revel audio system, the smooth, comfortable ride was almost like being in your own private concert hall.

After arriving at Shanghai Himalayas Museum, guests experienced the Lincoln Nautilus up close, taking in its expert design and luxurious interiors featuring leather and metal accents and learning about the car's newest features like driving assistance and safety technologies.

The second exhibition was the 5D immersive art exhibition Dream of the Floating World at the Shanghai Himalayas Museum. With more than 50 minutes of original digital art and nearly a hundred original works from ukiyo-e masters, the show is set over 2,300 square meters. Eighty sets of high-tech projection equipment and more than 60 surround-sound speakers brings to life the charm, natural scenery, changing seasons and artistic renderings of the Edo and Meiji era. But it was more than just art on the menu for the evening...

An immersive dinner experience brought Art X to a close for the evening. A feast for both the mouth and the eyes was brought to the table with classic ukiyo-e paintings projected as courses were served. It was truly the 'Lincoln way' – where attention to detail and personal touches raises the bar for a new definition of luxury.
